Listing of books read and hoping to read in the future. I'm a librarian and this is a good way for me to keep track of everything I try to cram into my brain!

So, I thought I would be diligent and write down all the books I've read, hmm, not gotten so far. Anyway, I'm going to try and catch up. There have been a few distractions (good ones) that have kept me from here, but I've been reading. This list is not in the order of reading, like you care, but just so you know.

Life of Pi: Yan Martell

Wind-up Bird Chronicle: Haruki Murakami (dreamy, lovely, read it)

13 Steps: Ruth Rendell (newest book from this mystery writer, very interesting characters, sinister bad guy, kind of a cop-out ending though)

The Lady and the Panda: Viki Croke (biography of Ruth Harkness, first explorer to bring a live baby panda to the U.S)

The Cookcamp, Alida's Song, The Quilt: Gary Paulsen (juvenile lit, but so touching, a trio of stories paying homage to his grandmother who had a large hand in his rearing.)

13 Little Blue Envelopes: Maureen Johnson (teen lit, cute story about a girl who receives 13 blue envelopes posthumously from her beloved aunt, they take her all over Europe for an adventure)

this is all I can think of right now

waiting in the wings:

On Beauty: Zadie Smith (I was listening to NPR when she read a passage from the book, I'm a sap, but I cried, so I must read the book)

Garlic and Sapphires: the secret life of a critic in disguise; Ruth Reichl

Misquoting Jesus: Bart Ehrman

The Jamaica Inn: Daphne Du Maurier (remember reading Rebecca in H.S.?)

I need to make something from Martha Stewart's Baking Handbook, the pictures are pure food porn

One of my many New Year's resolutions is to keep up with this blog!
